Position: Sybase Consultant
Job Description:
Selected Candidates will be responsible for:
MS SQL Server
• Production / Development DB Administration of MSSQL 2000
• Windows 2K Clustering
• SQL Server installation, configuration and maintenance
• SQL Server version migration(s) and upgrades
• DTS, OLAP and REPLICATION design, build and support
• Performance tuning of SQL Server and Windows2K3 configurations
• SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
SYBASE
• Production / Development DB Administration of SYBASE 12+
• Solaris and Linux OS CLI
• SYBASE Server installation, configuration and maintenance
• SYBASE Server version migration(s) and upgrades
• REPLICATION design, build and support
• Performance tuning of SYBASE Servers and Unix configurations
• SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
Strong scripting skills would be essential in Unix & Perl
Main Function of the Job:
1. Join the DBA Team that provides 1st and 2nd line DBA support for: -
Sybase 12+, MS Sql Server 2000
Development, Test and Production database environments
Including fault diagnosis and corrections that occur with each of the database types
2. In particular providing 2nd line support for the following applications :
Fixed Income (SMS, TMS, Options), Gibraltar, Market Environment, Private Equity Deal Mgt, Trade Capture HP Open View, People Data Mart, Quo Vadis. Corporate Systems. Group Treasury
