Our reputed direct client in Portland, Oregon area is looking for upto 9 Sr. SAP ABAP Solution Architect resources for the Upgrade project (4.6c to ECC 6.0) for the ABAP COE team
As the Senior IT Architecture - Solution Architect you will be responsible for applying diversified concepts, theories, and practices in multiple SAP environments. You will apply your knowledge in support of Client's large Tier 2 initiatives. You will develop solutions, develop strategies, and make recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues. You will help define and develop best practices and processes used by SAP developers. You will help define, develop and communicate SAP coding standards, best practices and system build techniques and processes. You will help in SAP's development and integration technologies including: ALE design and implementation; transport layer, environment planning, upgrades, and risk mitigation. You will conduct SAP design and coding reviews. You will provide performance monitoring during testing and troubleshooting in production. You will work with the Basis team and SAP on all aspects of system builds. You will develop or improve strategic processes. You will consult and transfer knowledge. You will act as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field.
• 2 years additional relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant technical work experience.
• SAP application development knowledge.
• Experience must include application development skills in ABAP. Preference to those with large/complex implementation experience.
• Experience with SAP 4.6 or higher required.
• Experience managing small groups and leading ABAP code and/or process improvement reviews required.
• Apparel/footwear/equipment industry development experience
• Experience with BW, APO (SCM), Event Manager, Java, and AFS a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with and meet changing deadlines.

• Very strong experience on SD module with pricing, order to cash
• SAP implementation and upgrade (desirable) experience
• Hands-on experience and technical proficiency in Object Oriented ABAP (OOPs) with expertise in RICEF development
• Experience working with SAP BAPI's, BADI's and IDOC management.
• Experiencing leading SAP development efforts and helping to define development standards and best practices for overall application design.
• Created and customized various Layout sets, Print programs and Output types for printing of SAPScript documents and labels. Worked with Smart forms tool for the creation of forms. Migration from SAPScripts to Smart Forms.
• Well-versed in analysis the performance and efficiency of programs and codes using the SAP tools SQL Trace & Runtime Analysis for Performance tuning.
• Technical proficiency in use of OSS Notes
• Experience in writing new and modifying existing ABAP reports, user exits, BADIs and dialogue programming
• Experience with defining and coding conversions and interfaces using LSMW, BAPI, IDOC, BDC, and call transaction update methods
• Experience in trouble shooting, performance tuning, writing technical specifications from functional design specifications
• Experience in executing and writing technical test script documentation
• Hands-on experience and technical proficiency in User Exits (Field Exits, Menu Exits, Function Exits, Screen Exits, Conversion Exits, Badis)
Required Qualifications / Technical Skills:
• A minimum of 8 years of SAP development experience in ECC 5.0 / 6.0 utilizing the new SAP NetWeaver ABAP and Java stack technologies.
• Experience with Classic reporting / ALV, BDC, LSMW, BAPI, BADI, UserExits, ALE, EDI, RFC, IDocs, Data dictionary objects, Function Modules & Groups, Dialog Programming, Screen painter, Menu painter, Table creation, Search Help and Views, SAPScripts, SmartForms, ABAP Objects and ALV with OOPs
• Proven ability to translate requirements into reliable business solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Experience with the complete software development life cycle and source code management procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
