Position: Assistant photography old film transfer technician
Job Description:
To transfer and/or render old films in 8mm format to DVD. To make sure that contrast and colour and quality is as high as possible.
In many cases the transfering to a file will be done in Canada and the film file will be compressed and transferred to the candidate's computer. The candidate will then open the file and complete the rendering and compress and transfer the file back to our offices for delivery.
The candidate will spend many hours watching the film and correcting errors and rendering.
The candidate will be connected to our server using PC Anywhere and be able to have direct access to all files at our site. Rendering may be done on our computer as well as on his/hers.
In addition there is administrative work such as booking in new orders and booking as completed as well as troubleshooting.
The candidate will communicate with our office using Skype.
For the first month or so the candidate will be paid daily through PayPal in US dollars. After one month then the candidate would be paid weekly.
Candidate Profile: The candidate should have his her own computer with a minimum of 2 gb ram with a good sized monitor and good UPS backup. The candidate should be flexible to work at various times. Some of the work will be done at 8pm Indian standard time. Other times will be day and independant. The candidate must be able to write and speak a good English. The candidate must have a very good attention to detail. The candidate must be very good at 'FILM RENDERING'. We use Pinnacle software, but if the candidate has his/her own preferred rendering software then that could be used as well.
